Walked into the LGS today to check the used case. Hiding in the back is an absolutely immaculate Mod 27-5 6" bbl that had my name written all over it. Price tag said $599.99. Being a former employee and not quite having 6 bills to lay down on another gun, I went to the manager on duty who dutifully called the owner to see if I could get anything above the normal discount I receive on this fine piece. That was a MISTAKE. They normally give me 50 bucks off used guns without blinking an eye. I shoulda took the fifty off and run, but NOOOOOOOooooo. I gotta be greedy... Seems the owner had told another manager NOT to sell that gun, the owner wanted it for himself. The other manager was on vacation so someone else had the big idea to put the thing out for sale. I'm glad I kept the owner from losing the gun, he's a pretty good guy and he don't "collect" much, so I'm really glad he was able to keep the thing. I woulda been happier though if I had just asked for my normal discount and paid for the thing...

Sorry to hear about your missed opportunity but it does happen in life and in your opinion at least the owner is a good guy. If you keep looking another one will turn up in the future.
