So, can perfection be improved upon?
As you may recall, and as I like to point out as often as I can on these forums, I carry a 3” Model 65 daily as my CC piece. I consider it to be a “perfect” revolver—everything I need, nothing I don’t, etc.
Occasionally the mind starts to wander, and I wonder, “is it perfect or can it be improved?” I mean, I’ve never even had an action job done, although it is silky smooth. So I search the internet wasteland for gunsmithing services and find a plethora of things I could spend money on to “improve” my revolver. Problem is, I don’t understand a lot of the lingo and so don’t know what perceived benefit a lot of these services would bring.
So I throw it out to you learned members of this forum. If you were to send your perfect gun to a smith, what would you have done? Action job? DAO conversion? Moonclip conversion?
Let the ideas fly! Thanks.

My 3 inch 13-3 had an action job, a spurless hammer, and was rendered DAO. I considered it one VERY slick carry gun. Last revolver I carried on a regular basis too.
But for a "perfect" carry revolver I used a 3 inch 66-4. Regards 18DAI

Some changes to consider:
1. Smoooooth action job.
2. Nice wood grips that fit your hand and point well.
3. Bead blast finish.
4. High visibility paint on front sight.

If you consider it to be perfect as it is, why change anything?

I have this one of three hundred model 66-3 made for lew horton by the performance center. I belive it has ever option you can think of. The triljon night sight needs replaceing as it isnt bright anymore and were I to have another made up, I might skip the porting. Still, I belive its as close to perfect as you can get. I also am posting the list that came with it.

My 3" 65-3 is perfect as well. The only "improvement" I have done was a new set of grips. I believe in the "don't fix it if it ain't broke" theory.

Pretty sure that's to make it easier to drop in a speed loader.

I figure if it was good enough for Danny DeVito in Romancing the Stone, it should be good enough for anyone just as it is.
