Default Night Guard Cylinder "star"

The local Cabela's has a Night Guard in 44 Special- asking $599.

It seems sound as far as action, finish, etc. However, the cylinder "star" (I think thats what it is called; it is the center piece in the middle of the cylinder that ejects empty cases) is rough on the outer edges- not just on one area but all around. This description probably isn't too good; the "star" as I am calling it, has several sections that I think work with the gun linkage to advance the cylinder. The outer edges of these protruding segments are what I am describing as rough. I wonder if Smith just didn't finish these edges finely if they don't have to be as a time/cost saver?

Is this normal for these guns? It doesn't seem to affect the function of the gun insofar as checking it out in the store-

Thanks!

If it is functioning properly, I wouldn't worry about it.
