GRIPS THAT ARE IMPOSSIBLE
I have a 340PD that have rubber grips.
I cannot get them off. They are molded on and no screw. I got the one piece off others with no problem.
These things are impossible.
Got ANY suggestions short of a dremel tool?
Blessings

Those sound like Hogue Bantams. They come with a little tool to use in removal, but you can use a couple of stiff credit. Work them in between the sides of the grip and the frame until you can pry the grip open enough to slide it off.

What brand grips are they? The OEM grip are the S&W synthetic grips with the screw/hole only on the left panel of the grip, which is a boot grip.

Not to derail the thread, or upset any Hogue fans, but I have never been able to imbrace Hogue's unique grip installation styles...whether it be like the Bantam grip, or when installing a full sized combat finger grooved wood grip which requires that one first install a stirrup on the base of the grip, and THEN slide on the one piece grip and secure with one screw at the base. Today's CNC/CAD designs allow for very strict tolerances when it comes to two piece grips, and frankly Hogue's designs are just overpriced, as well as a PIA to install/remove.

Thanks all.
That is the way I have gotten of other one piece grips.
I am going to have to wait until I get sme new grips I guess. These feel like they are going to tear up if I take them off.
Oh the heck with getting them off to clean under them. This gun lives under the mattress.

I like the shape of the bantams, but the one-piece construction aspect has kept me from buying a set to try them out. Never tried th original monogrips for the same reason. I like to remove the grips frequently, for cleaning purposes or just to swap them from gun to gun. I'll just stick with my uncle mike boots until/unless Hogue comes out with a two-piece bantam.
