I posted a while back about this. Seems it has been discontinued by S&W and a few of you have found this gun on clearance for around $500. Local shop still has the black model that I've looked at for $650, and won't go lower.

Now I like the look and feel of the gun and the concept of the 327 cartridge. Don't like that it is hard to find and that it may be discontinued (ammo).

I can't even find much about the gun online. Was it a stinker? Still, I keep thinking about picking that gun up. Something about it.

I rapidly grew to love mine and it's my regular carry revolver now, in a Crossbreed IWB. It carries like a dream. I've never been a big fan of barrel porting but figured what the heck. I don't mind it at all, it's kind of a non-factor for me. The only changes I made was putting on the CT grips and they do help with the recoil and putting some white paint on the front sight. Stout .327 rounds are impressive and more than enough in a self defense scenario. The ammo can be somewhat hard to find but you can eliminate that issue by reloading. You can also shoot .32 H&R Magnum, .32 S&W Long, .32 S&W and .32 ACP out of the gun so you should never not be able to find any ammo for it.

the version shown above is still on the S&W factory website. There's also a Centennial version without the porting. Both, oddly, are 632s.

At first I wasn't interested in a Model 632, not until an Indiana dealer was blowing them out for $479. I bought two and was so impressed I showed it to several friends. They were impressed also and 5 of them bought one from the same dealer cleaning him out. The only change to mine was having my gunsmith put a red insert in the front site and the addition of the excellent S&W Model 60 Pro series grips. Fortunately I never had a problem finding 327 Magnum ammunition for it. This 632 has become my absolute favorite J frame revolver. And since you can fire so many different 32s in it the versatility is obvious. I highly recommend one of these even for $650, you won't regret it.

I love mine, though I have not shot it much yet. The DA pull feels a bit stiff, but the SA release is great. Of course I will probably never fire a round DA.

My only complaints are the rear sight elevation screw and the thumb latch. The elevation screw seems like something that belongs on a Taurus. When I first sighted it in at 25 yards, I noticed the POI dropped after a few shots. Then I realized how the rear sight works and that I had it between detents. Now that it is sitting in a detent, I don't think it will move, but I don't trust it 100 percent.

The thumb latch is murder on my thumb. The way I grip it lets the latch eat the knuckle. I have to hold my right thumb down with my left to keep from bleeding to death shooting it. Then I have to take a brush to the latch to get all the meat and blood out of the checkering. I am about to try another latch or file off the checkering on this one.

I hope to be able to take a deer with it someday when the group buy mold that 2dogs is made by Mihec. 120gr cast HP.

I like my 632 Pro with a set of the 60 Pro grips on it better than I did with the OEM boots - more to hold on to! Anyone who would suggest that 'real' .327 Federal Magnums recoil the same as a .38 Special simply is misleading you. The Federal American Eagle 100gr SP and the Speer 115gr GDHP are supersonic from the 2 1/8" un-comped barrel and produce a healthy bump in the 23 oz revolver. The sights are relegated for a 'combat picture', ie, a 6 o'clock target image, from 7-12yd with the aforementioned ammo. It's an all day shooter with .32 S&WL's - as long as you include the drop in your Kentucky windage (The rear sight is not adjustable in elevation.) target picture. DA pull is decent - similar to the 60 Pro. SA is impossible, of course...

Both this and the black SS original 632 Carry Comp are still listed on the S&W site for $809/632 Pro and $899/632 Carry Comp. $500 for a SS limited production version ws a deal!

PS I thought most states required a 4+ inch barrel and a .4+ inch caliber for handgun hunting deer?

What are the rifle and ammunition restrictions for deer hunting?

There are no firearm, caliber, or magazine capacity restrictions when deer hunting on private land in Mississippi. There are certain firearm and ammunition restrictions on some MDWFP Wildlife Management Areas and US Fish and Wildlif eService National Wildlife Refuges. Check the WMA regulations for specific restrictions. Information about MDWFP's WMA's can be found at: www.mdwfp.com/wma

Your two tone is definately the coolest looking 632 on the Forum.

Thanks mag's!

When it came back from S&W, the second time, for tight extraction and
I opened the box and seen that they had taken "the hint" that I had
put in my letter, I just sat there on the couch and smiled.

I was smiling even more after I shot it and found out that it was fixed......;)

I have since put a "stainless" thumb piece on it.

I keep wondering why S&W didn't keep the 631 with 3 or 4" barrel and adjustable sights. All this other folderol takes away from the basic design of a compact, easily carried revolver in 32 Mag or 327 FM. I know in this age of micro-semi-autos in 380 and 9 mm it would just be a niche player, but I bet it would have been a good niche! JMHO, of course, but I would buy one.
