M&P 340 no lock what am I missing

I bought a 340 no lock a few months ago. Recoil was too brutal so I put it on GB and sold it (buy it now) for $800. I paid $745 shipped. Saw one sell for $1255 (had over 40 bids) yesterday. What's the deal, anyone know? My LGS has one in stock, tempted to buy the stupid thing and throwing it on GB and see what happens, but that's just not how I roll, that's part of the problem with being able to find a gun at a fair price.

There are a few others on there now that I am watching, one no lock and one with. It will be interesting to see how much more the no lock goes for.

Actually, the one with the lock is buy it now for $750, the other is a normal auction.

It is the current pinnacle of S&W J frame development, that's the deal. If I could only keep one of my J frames, it would be the M&P 340 no lock. Perfect weight, perfect sights.
