Default 629-3 unfluted prod #'s?

Had my son pick one up yesterday for me. It has the 6 1/2" barrel with the unfluted cyl.
Does anyone have production numbers on how many were built.
No box or papers...just looking for a good shooter.

Photo's once I get it in my hands

Thanks

Sounds like a variation commonly known as the "Classic Hunter." It was made in at least 357, 41 and 44 Magnum. I have seen the 629CH produced in at least a -1, -2 and -3 version. There were at least a couple thousand produced in the 44 Magnum if memory serves. It's what I would classify as a limited production variation.

Thanks for the info IC.

That's a mighty fine gun you have there

Serial # of the one I purchased is BFS98XX.

Do you know what year that would have been?

My 6in bbl -3 is ALB59XX. Shipped with rubber Hogue mono grip and not the spiffy finger groove grips above.

If my memory is accurate, "The Book" says there were 2000 of them. Here's mine...with appropriate modifications.
