Default Reaching Out (With my new long-tubed Model 29)

I managed to complete my model 29 collection of standard barrel lengths today with an unexpected find. I have a 3" 629, and a 4", and a 6 1/2" 29, but not an 8 3/8". I hadn't really been looking for an 8 3/8" to finish the set. It seems I always find things when I'm not looking for them. It is a model 29-4 with the long 8 3/8" barrel. This gun was as new with the box, tools, and even the warranty card, which was never sent in! The gun looks like it was never fired. It is still wearing it's original factory target stocks, which have a really beautiful grain. According to the SCSW, the 29-4 has the endurance package installed in it, although the cylinder stop notches are not the elongated ones. Serial number is BCA8xxx. This was offered to me for $650 and in a moment of weakness, I bit and took the deal. What do you think, would you have paid that? I know our motto here is it didn't happen without pics, so here they are:

Here's the box:

Here's the endlabel:

I say you did well for a NIB 29 at $650. Time to take her to the range!

Looks great! I love the 8 3/8" barrel, it is my favorite. I have 5 S&W's, 4 of them are 8 3/8''.

I like how you think! I have a 3" but it's a 629, so I didn't mention it. I have since edited my first post. Here it is with a 6" 28-2 that snuck in:

CWH44300: I know what you mean about throwing out your back going for your wallet! I threw out mine the other day on a 4" 66 for $350... As Walter Brennan said in 'The Guns of Will Sonnett:' "No brag, just fact."

Why? Seems no other customer in that LGS likes wheelies and they wanted to move it..
