Question about my S&W mod 10

Hello There,

I have a S&W Mod 10-7 has markings on butt 8D10668, markings on the cylinder frame that you see when you open the cylinder 85278 on top of a punch A5. The gun is 2” Nickel with wood grips.

Could someone please give me the history of the gun and the possible value.

8D10668 shipped in 1981. 85278 is an assembly # and means nothing now. Value depends largely on condition, however the 2" bbl. usually brings a bit of a premium in most places. I'd say maybe $400-$500 in real good condition, a little more if LNIB.
