Default A lot of firsts...

About six months ago, I saw something about the 586 Comp L and thought that it would be a perfect carry gun, but I doubted that I would ever find one. So, I began looking for a 3" 686 Plus, which I had seen several times. For I months, I looked in vain. I found both a 3" 29 and a 3" 629, but no 686s.

Last week, I walked into a gun store that I hadn't visited in a while. There in the display case was a new in box 586 Comp L. I walked out with the gun a little later.

As I say in the title, this revolver represents a lot of firsts. It is my first 3" gun, my first L frame, and first Performance Center gun. I am very satisfied with the quality. Fit and finish are excellent. It locks up tightly and has a smooth DA trigger and crisp SA pull. The Power Port seems to make a difference in muzzle flip.

My only complaint is that the tritium vial in the front sight is so small. I have probably been spoiled by the Trijicon sights on Glocks and my Colts. I can find the front sight, but it takes some looking.

The postscript to this story has me in another gun store a few days later. There in the display case was a 3" 686 Talo edition. Unfortunately, the PC 586 exhausted my gun buying funds.

Looks great. I'd like to get a 2 1/2 or 3 " 686 (or 586) at some point.

We're never exhausded I use the plastic one of them anyway since I pay it off every month. I hate passing up great finds. Congrats may this 686 thing is what I need too.

I carry a ruger police service six model GF 32 made in the 200TH year of American liberty time to time that was never in the cataloge my point it's worth way too much now. I need to replace it.

My only regret in life is i didn't get into the S&W revolvers sooner. The only thing on my bucket list isn't sky diving, it's collecting more s&w revolvers. I refuse to leave this earth till I have them. I have no other regrets.

I just gave my misses some of my gun money for a vacation. No biggie I need to keep her happy too.
