Model 60 in 357 mag 3" No IL Do they exist?
I have bever seen one let alone for sale.. and I want one
My LGS has had a few come through his shop (I have a 60-15 on reserve right now) but I would love to find one without the IL.
I believe they didn't make the 3" 357 magnum until 1996. Is this correct or was it earlier? If it is, they only made them 5 years before the Clinton Lock was imposed. So they won't be easy to find.

Yes, the model 60-10. These have been going for somewhat high prices recently online ($700-1000)

HMM.. a no lock for the same price or more than a NIB pro series 60 with front night sight....brushed SS, Wood stocks... neither have a pinned barrel. Just the IL.. there is always the plug. Tough choice.. any opinion? MY LGS sells the Pro Series for $699+ tax

The 60-9 was made in 1996 in .357, without the lock. I have only seen them with the 2 1/8" barrel.

The 60-10 exists. I have one.
You have to find an old guy walking around the gun show with
a small gun rug under his arm who has been beaten up by the
previous dealers wanting to give him $300. for it.
Then you just pay his asking price of $525. and everybody's
Happy.
The 60-10 is a baby 686. very cool. I'v been meaning to do a little
pictorial of the Stainless 357 magnums but have not found the time.
What I have found has been directly proportionate to the amount
of time I am willing to spend looking. Whether online, at gun shows,
pawn shops . and also gun stores.
Good luck.

They DO exist. I had one. Still kicking myself for letting a wily female talk me out of it.

60's in 357
The 60-9 is 2 1/8 in 357 full underlug, no IL. Then the 60-10
is a 3 in full underlug 357, also pre lock. Later no lock engineering changes were 38 spl. The next 357's were all IL .
But there are two very cool 357 model 60's that have Internal locks, the 5 inch target version and the 3 inch pro with the slab side barrels.
Here is the quartet
Below is a 60-9
Why is it that Smiths look 10 times better with combats???
Now the 60-10
Below is the Pro with its slab barrel
Last is the 5 inch "target" model(discontinued)

Last year, my buddy found a 3" 60 for his wife. He paid $375 for it.
He is lucky when it comes to good gun deals.
But then again, so am I.

I sold my 60-15 cuz I wanted one without the IL. Bought the 60-10 and was great. Then my LGS got in a pro series slab side 3" .... I am in love again. IL or not. It just never, ever, ever ends
