Default mystery S&W

i have a S&W that appeares to be a model 27 .357 mag 6 or 6 1/2 barrel. target sights, grips., but the yoke is stamped 10-5 what do i have

Since the two models mentioned are built on completely different frames, in completely different calibers, and with different features, a picture is necessary to really sort this out.

sorry, i have no way to post pictures. could the yoke 10-5 be a lightly stamped 19-5?

Beginning letter K, C, N ?

Welcome to the Forum.
The M10 is a K-Frame with fixed sights.
The M27 is an N-Frame with an adjustable rear sight. It also has a checkered topstrap and barrel rib.
What is the serial number, from the bottom of the butt, including letters?
