Default 686s so far - pic thread

Well it is a nice morning in Arizona and I recently picked up a bucket list gun - one of the 686-5 scarce 5" dealer stock guns. So I pulled out all the 686's and the camera. Still lacking an 8 3/8" 686, and I'll probably get one some day if the deal is right, but I'm just not that into those long full-lug barrels, so it will have to wait. Here ya go:

2 1/2" 686 no dash

3" 686-5(+)

4" 686 CS1

4" 686-5(+) Mountain Gun

5" 686-5(+)

6" 686-4(+) - my first 686 and still my most accurate I think.

The whole crew so far!

Looking good,
Beware of the man with one gun(or variations of the same model).
He can probably shoot it well.
Great rack you got there.

That is a tough one Engine49guy...I guess I'd have to agree with you and go Mtn Gun. Although I'm not sure your sinking ship scenario is the best one. (maybe lost in Mountains or social anarchy would be better?) If I'm on a sinking ship I might want my cheapest beater gun so my heirs would still have the good ones! Sinking ship...Glock...it shoots under water!

I've always felt you could never have enough .357 magnums.... I guess now you need to find matching 586s.

Default VERY nice!

I am impressed with your collection. I have 2 686+ Smiths myself, one with a 4" barrel and a 6" model I just bought yesterday. You make me want more!

I also have 686-4 4" and it is my best shooter, most accurate for sure.

Love the CS-1!
No SSR? (May be a dumb question but I'm new to these things, lol)

Not a dumb question SGT...I like the looks of the SSR quite a lot, and maybe one day I'll have one. I've concentrated my collection on prelock models is the main reason I've never sought an SSR.

I thought it may have been because of the lock but didn't want to assume. Regardless, it's a beautiful collection.
