Any luck finding the Ergo Delta grip for a j-frame?
I thought I would give the Ergo Delta grip a try on one of my j-frames. I think I'd have better luck finding a honest politician. If anyone knows a dealer that has them in stock, let me know.

Did you try their web-site? DELTA GRIP - HANDGUN GRIPS - Products They are out of stock right now, but being the manufacturer they should be first to have them!

I received an e-mail from Ergo
They said they had a production problem and they would be back in stock in three weeks. I'm not sure why, but I've got to try them. I just have to find a way to get them to lower their shipping charges.

What I find curious is that the photos on their web-site show three somewhat different styles. Two are retained by a cross screw, and the primary photo shows one apparently retained by a Hogue-style system. Wonder which they will be shipping?

Besides being ugly, this grip design looks uncomfortable ... like holding a baseball.
I'll save the $ and stay with my Hogues and Pachs.

They ARE ugly in the sense that they're a radical change from what we're used to. Still, for $20 I'd like to try a pair, if nothing else but to say I did.

I've been looking, too - Ergo's shipping is very high, so I'm waiting until they show up on eBay or Amazon.

My Ergo Delta arrived today. I like it! The grip angle is very natural, and pointability is excellent - the sights line right up for me.
I'm hoping to find some range ammunition, I have a range day this Saturday and I'd like to try it out.

Ken,
Naturally everyone wants to know how they worked for you when you can.
When did you order yours? Did they send you a shipping confirmation E-mail after your order was placed?
I ordered one on the March 16th and received an order confirmation E-mail the morning of the 17th promising a second E-mail with tracking information as soon as it shipped. After a week (yesterday morning) I sent them an E-mail asking what the status was and that I had not received the shipping E-mail. Two business days later, all day yesterday and today, they still have not responded to my E-mail! Not exactly an auspicious start Their web-site showed in-stock the day I ordered, and still does.

The design has been around for many, many years. The few that I've seen were all custom wood.
I'd agree with HDKen's comments , and may have to try a set of these.

I bought mine from an eBay seller - more reasonable shipping than direct from Ergo.

Brownell's and Midway are going to carry them but at this time neither place has placed an order for them.

Well, I finally received mine today. I'm not going to make wrhk33 happy, he already knows the story!
As far as shipping charges are concerned, one set of grips came UPS Ground in a box approx. 6x8x12". From order to delivery was 10 days for an in-stock item. Why such a small item could not be sent in a bubble-pack mailer by First Class US Mail for something like $3-5, instead of over $12 by ground is beyond me. Are you listening Wayne?
Now, what do I think of the grips? These are definitely not for someone with small hands. While the concept is good they are simply too large for someone with small hands. I wear a size 10/Large glove, and they are almost too large for my hands. If the front was moved back about 1/8", and the finger groove spacing reduced slightly they would fit an average hand far better. One other change I would like to see is to make a model that is specific to the extremely popular "Centennial" style frame, with the top of the grip extending to the top of the frame "knuckle". The shape of the grip actually tends to cause you to gold the gun higher, with the web of the thumb surrounding the knuckle above the top of the grip.
Positives? There are several. The grasping position is actually very natural for double-action shooting of a J-Frame size revolver. Staging the double-action is made easier for accurate shooting, as I already knew it would. The top edge of the grip, at least for me, makes an excellent thumb-rest for a thumb down grip. This is ambi-dextrous. Don't know if this was deliberate, but it works very well. I am often cut by the thumbpiece when shooting my 640-1, my impression is that will not be a problem with these grips.
Changes I would like to see. Most are noted above. One I think is important is to narrow the finger grooves. This would allow the grip to be shortened about 3/8", which would make the grip more compatible with pocket carry, which after all is the specific purpose for the Centennial frame in the first place. Along with this would be raising the top of the grip to cover the knuckle which would improve recoil handling. And, finally, different color options. Black, a dark sand, and, of course, pink for the ladies. Unfortunately the dimensions would have to be reduced as very few women have hands large enough to use this grip as-is.
Here are pictures of the Ergo Grip on my 640-1.

Good comments! I have broad palms but short fingers, and the grip is comfortable for me. I could see the need for an open backstrap version, though.
Still looking for a box of .38s for Saturday...

Ergo Delta Grip
I just tested out a set of these grips last weekend. In a word I was impressed. I know they don't, but they almost seemed to lower the bore axis on my Model 042 Air Weight and really absorbed the recoil of the 158 gr. loads I was shooting. With this gun and its old-style cylinder release latch I usually get what I call "J-frame thumb", but with these grips the gun was a pussy cat to control. I thought it allowed for a natural point and I did a number of 5-shot groups firing deliberately and rapid-fire and had groups easily covered by my palm from a distance of 21 feet. As for speedloaders; speedstrips worked fine and so did the HKS speedloader. The Safariland loader I use a lot, not as well due to the thickness of the grip and the fact that the loader has to be pushed in so the extractor star hits the release to dump the rounds. It will work, but takes a little extra effort. I also agree that it is a bit large for pocket carry. I usually pocket carry with cargo pants as the outside pocket flaps help to hide the handgun and the trousers I used work OK with these grips. Now if Ergo and Crimson Trace could get together and make this a laser-grip, it would be a hard combination to beat.

I don't know how well they control the gun, but controlling my gag reflex after prolonged viewing would be problematic.

I was able to shoot a little with the new grip today. Big difference! I like it even if it does look like something out of Blade Runner.

Are you kidding me with their shipping costs?
I just checked the manufacturer's web site and they say they have them in stock. Cheapest shipping cost to SW Pa was $13.65. I just lost interest in supporting this company!
