Default WooHoo Scored Today

I was just scanning the Used Gun Internet Forum that I usually use and Scored this lovely 1984 19-5.

It was real dirty and was hard to tell that it was a real beauty until I got her home and cleaned her up.

Now that she has bee treated as she should be, I am ready to take a little test fire cruise. Action seems tight and everything looks now as if it was hardly fired, just improperly stored. it's not every day that "I" get a score like this. Good thing I had some spare cash floating around today.

What do ya'll think of this inexpensive find.

$350 Honest. It was so dirty, I was able to convince the previous owner to take less. I think it was just improperly stored and forgotten about. because it sure turned out nice after some much needed attention.

Sorry, No I did not. I always forget to take before photos with everything I do dang it, LOL. My wife always asks me the same question, when it's too late.

Well, first I removed the Grips, and coated it in Hoppe's No9 Solvent and began the scrubbing process by hand of course. Then after it was all cleaned from the bore to the dust under the firing pin area on the frame. I polished it, by hand with Meguiar's All Metal Polish, then I used a regular, very thin coat of wax, all the time paying special attention to all the cracks and crevices.

Thanks for the compliment. It looks as good as my 66-2 if not a little better.

Ok, I'm stumped. Don't see the veterans forum listed. How does one locate it?

I went to the veterans forum but see no link to join. I am a retired US Army Vet and would love to join the Club. Thanks for the advice.

Nice find.

But I'm confused. What exactly this that 'spare cash' thing?

LOL, Sometimes I find some between the Couch Cushions. Rare but, sometimes it happens.

It looks good all cleaned up! Be careful using Hoppe's No 9 on nickel finishes. It is designed to break down the copper fouling in rifle barrels. The problem is that copper is used under the nickel, so Hoppe's attacks that too. Your gun won't fall apart, but I wouldn't make a habit of it.

Thanks Bud, I will keep that in mind. I knew copper was used under nickel but it never dawned on me to think about what you just reminded me of. I will switch back to CLP or Ballistol.
