My gunsmith sent my 642-2 back to Smith and Wesson with a broken trigger. This was back in August. He said they would replace it as it couldn't be repaired.
They sent me a new one. Got it the last week of February. That's about a six month turn around. If you have to return a gun for replacement, you may have to wait awhile. But they did make good on it.
Anyone else have a long wait with a replacement gun?
They will place LEO's at the front of the line if it's a duty gun. I don't believe in lying to anyone, but if it's your only carry gun, they may speed it up a bit for non-LEO's if you let them know.
Heck, it took them 4 months just to send me a set of replacement grips for my wife's 686. Four months. No work required. Just drop them in an envelope and mail it.
I appreciate the fact that I didn't pay for them, but I had written them off as gone. Then *poof* there they were.
