Yup, I have seen new 637, 638, and 642 models with and without IL.... the lockless models are a bit more scarce, but no different in price (at least at the store I worked at).

The current American Rifleman has a review article on the Model 351c, basically the 442/642 "hammerless" design (lightened through extensive use of alloy) in .22 WMR, that shows it without the IL, although the S&W website doesn't list it as a "no lock" gun, and the article makes no mention of the IL one way or the other.

442 (optional), 642 (optional), 442 Moon Clip, 642 Pro, 640 Pro, M&P340 (optional) are the only ones I'm aware of.

The 340PD is also available with no lock.

I read the review of the 351c and they reported they had challenges with accuracy due to the DAO and 15# plus trigger pull. That does not sound like a fun one to shoot.

As listed above. It's limited to certain j frames, and nothing larger. Also the BG38 has no lock.
