Default Speer 125 gr .357 Gold Dot/snub

My 2008 Speer catalog shows this round only expanding .40 in (only 4 petals) and penetrating 23 in at a snub velocity of 1189 fps in heavy clothing. Would you guys still carry this round in a snub? Thx.

I think these are the best choice out there right now. That is what is in all our guns.

If actual chronographs velocity is as advertised, I would carry them. That is 392 ft lb s energy. Hang on tight.

Can you hit with them in your 442?

That would be a good trick.

Good performance, but with a whole lotta flash and blast.

Why not use the 135 grain Gold Dot Short Barrel .357 load that was designed to expand and penetrate at lower velocity with less flash, blast, recoil, and wear on the gun?

Speer spent a lot of time designing the bullet to accomplish this.
