Well 1st things first..... I owe a BIG thanks....like .44 Magnum big thanks
to my good buddy Jim Brewster (jjbrewst1) for this score. Jim knew I was searching for a 3" 629/29. This one popped up in the classifieds a little over a week ago. Jim was Johnny on the spot and snatched it up in record time at a great price for me. A bit extra shipping and a FFL transfer later she is parked in my safe until I die.
My research shows it is a non- catalogued 629-5 3" Alaska Backpacker II. Product code 103689. According to S&W this is 1 of 300. All 300 shipped to V.F. Grace Inc. in Alaska.
Had her out to the range today. It handled full house 44 mags better than I expected. It will see ALOT of .44 SPL for the rest of her life. Might have to try some 305 grain bear loads just to get the full "Alaskan experience".
