Default Model 65-3 With Interesting Serial Number

Earlier this week, I picked up a still NIB Model 65-3 with serial number ANK0000. With help from S&W Historian Roy Jinks, I got shipping info for the gun of September 1986. In my many years of collecting I have had some interesting/unique serial numbers on some of my guns, but I have never seen any guns with all zeros. Have any of you forum members come across a similar serial number? Also it would be interesting to see some other examples you members might have in the way of interesting/unique serial numbered guns. The first picture is of the serial number on the gun's butt. The second of the gun with added factory smooth GA stocks to dress it up. And since I am very fond of 3" "K" frame guns, the third photo shows related revolvers from the same (Mid 1980's) time frame which are presently in my collection: The Model 65-3, Model 66-2 (with Keith Brown stocks), and twin Model 547's (wearing Spegel Rosewood and Birdseye Maple stocks).

Congrats on that sweet 65 pick up. As far as serial numbers go, I have owned 3 all zero guns and have seen several others over the years. I know a few members on this board to with all zero serial guns. I had 2 686's and a 65 as well.

I just recently picked up a model 19 with a 0000 serial number. I also found the serial number very cool. There can only be so many of those around which I think makes good talking points with friends and such.

With the current serial number system used by S&W, a gun with a xxx0000 SN will show up once in every 10,000 guns, so it really isn't unusual at all.
