Default New to me 342ti

I saw this gun pop up on the local trade boards for $400. The owner described it as a S&W .38. I could tell by the box and pic it had to be an Airlite.

Well, 16 miles and $400 later, I have a LNIB 342ti. Sweet little gun. This has been a good gun week as I traded a $500 gun for a LNIB 386 Night Guard. I am not sure what these go for nowadays, but I think $400 was a steal.

I agree, at that price, it's a steal. Congratulations. Now go buy a lottery ticket.

BTW, I put the bantams on it when I got home. It had what looked like UM grips on it which I believe were original to the gun. I will probably put some nice SS grips on it just to keep it nice and light.

Lottery numbers, here I come!

Nice, but I wouldn't do that grip change , I think the Uncle Mikes are much better than the new style bantams. Or get a set of the old 3 finger Uncle Mikes Combat grips if you really want good control.

Very nice, I saw it also. If I was closer to SA, you would have had some competition. I already have one and it is my most carried gun. Enjoy it.

Absolute best .38 jacket pocket gun out there. Lot of us LEOs, active and retired, carry it that way. You'll forget it's there, it's that light. Be sure to try different types of ammo since the bullet inertia problem can and does happen in this gun. $400? That's "steal" with a capital "S".

qBall,

I was amazed someone else did not snatch it up before I did. Guess most folks are more interested in autos.... ah well, our gain.

Wish he had more revolvers to sell, but no dice.

I will be playing around with grips at the range. I have a 340PD no lock I just got last week and I liked shooting it with the bantams on it. Still, I will have to see if maybe the original UM or perhaps a set of CT grips i have might suit my fancy with this gun.

I have been on one of those rare runs where it seems to be raining good deals. I also picked up a nice 649-1 last Thursday. In great shape and just begging to ride in my pocket!

I better stop while I am ahead for a little bit. I say that, but I will be haunting the boards and used gun cases within a day or so...

Great catch. I've always wanted one but never ran across the right deal.
