Speed Loaders and Speed Strips
Anyone know the 'best brand of a "Speed-Loader" 'and "Speed-Strip" for an S&W 638CT Airweight .38 spl with Shrouded Hammer, and while you are at it, also an S&W M&P Shield 9mm? I have heard some 'Speed-Loaders may have trouble with the 'grip and the Crimson Trace.
Hopefully someone who has used these 'exact items with the 'exact weapons with no 'mods to the grips as each purchased has the 'factory grips and I do not plan on changing them (live in California and the "Republic of Califonia" will not allow any type of modification from what their DOJ has approved to be sold or purchased 'new from manufacturer [sigh]).
The accessories will mostly be used when I go to range.
Thank you.

I like using the Bianchi 580 Speed Strips, when shooting/carrying J frames. I haven't had any problems using them with any of the grips I have tried.

Bianchi Speed Strips here, for a J-frame .38 Special. I have an HKS speedloader, but don't carry it. It's in reach at home.

Bianchi speed strips for my .357, and I do have a speed loader that works, but so old there is no chance of remembering who made it.
I use an UpLula loader for my Shield 9 mags. I keep several extra mags for the range.

It's personal preference really. I like HKS model 36-A for speedloaders and Tuff Products 5 shot speed strips or Bianchi 6 shot strips. And yes, I have tried Safariland, etc speedloaders.
S&W 442 with Speer Gold Dot SB 135 gr. and two 5rd speed strips.

HKS speedloaders DO NOT work with current S&W rubber boot grips. Speed strips do.
Changing the grips shouldn't be a problem, if you want to do it.

Shouldn't have any issues with any speed strips (I use the Bianchi version.)
As for speed loaders, HKS and Safariland work, but I'm using non factory grips/stocks.

I have the speed loaders for my Airweight .38, but with the rubber grips that came on the gun , speedloaders will not work, SO I changed the grips to S/W wood to fit the airweight and all's well...

I also use the HKS speedloader as my primary reload. I have two Bianchi speed strips that I use in warmer temps with shorts as they are lower profile and fit my pockets better. The speedloader is much faster for me, no hangups with the Eagle grips.

I use Bianchi speed strips.
They work awesome and in fact, I have a strip in my front left pocket to go with the Airweight 38 that's riding on my right hip right this very second as I type this.
I like the strips over loaders as there in no profile whatsoever when they're in my jeans or shorts pocket. Gotta love that.
Also sorry to hear you're in Kali... For a gun enthusiast that must suck.

My EDC consists of a Model 38-0 and a Model 638-1 both equipped with Crimson Trace LG-405 laser grips. My usual carry includes both of the aforementioned Bodyguards, as well as at least one 8-round Tuff Strip speedstrip. I have, and have used Safariland Comp I speedloaders, but find them a bit bulky considering I usually pocket carry my revolvers. If I'm wearing a jacket, I might add a speedloader in the jacket pocket. I have never had a feeding problem with either the speedloader or speedstrip.

Dave

I really like these speedloaders from 5 Star Firearms. I have a few and they are much nicer than the HKS loaders.

Are you telling us that the great state of California has gone so far that you are not ALLOWED to replace the stocks on a handgun???

Although, there are many opinions, all with value, this gentleman walked me through the myriad of different revolvers when I purchased my 1st earlier this year. Actually he started tutoring me late last year if I remember correctly. I didn't know where to start, I gave him my parameters and he explained it in newbie and I haven't regretted my purchase yet. I now have 3 revolvers.
I would listen to him......
I use the speed strips, I have an HKS speed loader. It's bulky in your pants pocket, always available at home but is carried at times. It CAN BE USED with a J-frame airweight with rubber grips, it's bulky next to the grips but with practice, you just insert the tips of the ammo into the cylinder, twist the release, give it a little wiggle and you are good to go.
