I bought this gun and at first thought it was a custom by MagnaPort but not sure. Hammer and trigger and flutes and release are polished and gun a sort of bead blasted. Trigger guard has an interesting cut. But the action and trigger are unbelievably crisp and smooth. Super light. Really like a SAA in single action. And DA is easiest I ever felt. Has port holes but not like typical Magnaport. Help!!!!

I can't offer much help here - except to say that the bead blasting that was done is a very close match to the factory bead blast of a 625-3.

The trigger guard modification is either to allow fast trigger acquisition, or due to the owner having fat fingers (or fingers in gloves). At least they didn't do a complete "Fitz" to it. It also looks like the trigger has be "radius-ed" (the edges and face buffed/polished/rounded).

The porting doesn't look like anything I have ever seen from Mag-Na-Port, but I like it. You might send them a picture of the porting for verification.

Pretty sweet gun. Mark me down as first in line if you decide to sell it.

PS - the grips are pretty, but will probably hurt when shooting. I am a big fan of the Hogue finger grove solution for actual range time. I still keep my pretty wood grips for photo opportunities, but when at the range it is Hogue's all the way.

If it helps says 45 Cal Model Of 1989 but faint on side. I do have a set of Hogue's. LOL. The neatest part of this revolver is the trigger and hammer. Action is truly light and crisp......

That is the correct barrel marking for a 625-3 (and -4 and -5 at least). That was laser etched at the factory and on many unmodified guns that marking is faint. 625-2's were the "Model of 1988" and that was roll stamped into the barrel. Laser etching was not an improvement.

Be sure to bring that set of Hogues with you to the range - I have a feeling you will want them.

Darn if that isn't sweet looking! I like the polished flutes as an accent.
It that action is as light as you say I would guess the hammer too may have been lightened. Would be curious to see inside this one:D
Does the barrel show any additional crowning?

A very nice mix of porting, polishing and tuning to ones likings, that outta be fun!

The ports look like they were cut via electric discharge machining (EDM). If it wasn't Mag-Na-Port it was someone who had advanced technical training and access to some very expensive equipment. This is not kitchen table gunsmithing.

I was wondering about those cuts, they looked almost unreal to the gun. Exacting edges, crisp cuts!

I had a mag-na-port custom Colt revolver that was very similar but for the ports themselves. Also the trigger and hammer not like this.
