just some old Herrett's
Had some spare time this weekend. Been meaning to get some guns out and swap a few grips around. These are all 629-1's wearing Herrett's stocks, trooper's, shooting master's and a new to me set of thumb rest target stocks. The cell phone photos really don't cut it for some of these, they look much nicer in hand.
Let me know how you like them.
Chris

I really like Herrett grips. I check ebay all the time for bargains but I haven't found any yet. I like #1 and #3 the best

There was a set for sale on the forum a few weeks back. I've never tried them on a j but I bet they'd be nice on an older 36 or 60.

Nice rack Chris! They all look great, especially the set on the first gun. What kind of wood is that?

Those are nice. Really sharp.
I've been told these are Herters, but I have no idea if that's true or not. They're not marked in anyway. I got them off E-bay for next to nothing really.
''
I need a new picture of that gun. Sun was all wrong.

Thought you guys would like to see another pair.
I'm refinishing these for an old gun crank friend of mine, forum member bob1956. They are a gorgeous pair of troopers, that I believe where owned by Warren Center (of Thompson Center arms). Maybe Bob will chim in.
I should have taken a before photo but didn't. Here they are after 6 coats of true oil, ready for a lite buffing and final coat.

Nice work Chris, they did come in a box from Warren Centers estate. I was lucky enough to get a couple of crumbs that fell thru the cracks in the floor when the auction went down. There were some incredible guns in that lot but they all made their way to that border town in Maine. If those grips are as nice as they look I'll have to give u a bonus. Maybe a set of magna's for highway patrolman you just got. I knew a had the right guy on the job. I can make anything out of metal but wood is not my niche. Thanks in advance,
