Open the cylinder. Look on the frame behind the yoke. You should see the model number there. Something like: "Mod 686", "60-15", "19", "M. 640-1". Often times the s/n will be there in the same place (in addition to being on the the bottom of the grip frame). Post the s/n as well. Don't need all the other markings and symbols you might find. Just the s/n and model number would be a good start.

Perhaps a pic for overall condition once we know the model number.

ONCE YOU GATHER THE INFO, AS SPELLED OUT BY THE KERNEL, YOU SHOULD MOVE ONTO THE "GUN BROKER" AUCTION SITE. SEARCH THAT SITE FOR WHAT MODELS LIKE YOURS HAVE SOLD FOR IN COMPLETED AUCTIONS. (IIRC--THERE IS A RECENT THREAD ON THIS FORUM THAT SPELLS OUT THIS PROCESS IN DETAIL) THE TRUE VALUE OF A FIREARM--OR ANY OTHER ITEM--IS DETERMINED BY WHAT AN INDIVIDUAL IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT IN A FREE MARKET PLACE---NOT WHAT "THE BLUE BOOK" SAYS ITS WORTH, OR WHAT SOME SELF PROCLAIMED PUNDIT MIGHT SAY THAT ITS WORTH. USE THE SAME TECHNIQUE USED BY REAL ESTATE AGENTS AND LENDERS TO CALCULATE THE VALUE OF A PROPERTY. THEY LOOK AT THE SELLING PRICES (NOT ASKING PRICES) OF "COMPARABLES"…..
ONE LAST THING. DON'T YOU EVER--NO NEVER--POST IN THIS FORUM WITHOUT PICTURES. WE ARE GIVING YOU A FREE PASS THIS TIME, BUT IF YOU EVER DO IT AGAIN, WE WILL HUNT YOU DOWN LIKE A DOG ! ! ! (JK, OF COURSE, BUT PICS SATISFY OUR COLLECTIVE NEED FOR GUN PORN, AND GOES A LONG WAY IN HELPING MEMBERS TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS)
