Default Night Guard Durability

I have a chance to buy a Nightguard revolver. I like everything about this gun but wonder how well it will hold up over the long run?
It is th 7 round, .357 mag version and I would probably shoot predominately .38 special out of it
Thank you

The only Night Guard that I would "worry" about durability/longevity, would be the 329NG.

I have a 386NG, lots of rounds through it. Built in 2008. Still looks brand new, and it is in my carry rotation. Buy with confidence. The scandium frames are very strong, probably as strong as steel. The cylinder is steel as well. There is nothing to even think about. Even with the 329NG in 44 mag. They will outlast everyone here under normal use.

Scandium is a VERY strong substance. S&W has been using it in firearms for almost a decade now.

Buy that 386 Night Guard and shoot all the 357s that you want through it. Odds are you will not wear it out. With 38s, there is no doubt you will not wear it out.

One of my oldest Scandium S&Ws is a 340PD. This is part of my training inventory. Hundreds of students have fired mine over the years. My self and probably 100 others have qualified with it as a backup weapon. It has NEVER seen a 38 Special put in it. While I do not keep records, more than 7 full cases of Remington 158 JSPs have been through it so far. That is 7000+ full magnums with no significant wear other than to the finish.

There is a Forum Member that used to be on here, about 5 years ago his count was a few thousand more than mine through his 340PD. Not sure where he is today.

Thanks for that info colt_saa. Even though I've never worried about wearing one of my 340s out, it's nice to see those numbers.
