Is this a Round Butt?
I think it is, but I'm not 100% sure.
It's a M10-9, 100108, circa December 1997. Still rockin' the old style frame.

Take off the grip and you will know 100%. There are some rubber/composit grips that will make a round butt seem like a square butt and I think that there are also some that will make a square butt seem round.

Yep. The box said square, but it may of been referring to original grips that were not present.

The SCSW states the 10-9 was introduced in 1988, square butt frames stopped in 1995-'96 and was replaced by the 10-11 in 1997, so likely a late 10-9 after the SB era.

The reference on the end label is not to the frame, it is to the stocks

In my opinion, the round butt, standard barrel Model 10 with 4 inch barrel is about as good as it gets in a defense revolver. Put good ammo in it, and it has "everything you need, and nothing you don't."

And here we are looking at a -9 with a December 3, 1997 ship date. Maybe that -11 shipped on Dec 31st.
