Default New 625JM

I just picked up my new 625JM from layaway today.I can't wait to get it to the range.I swapped out those god-awful JM grips for a set of Ahrends.

Default 625JM

Nice gun, John. I just took delivery on one too. Had my gunsmith do the following:
1. Polish off the target trigger grooves.
2. Convert the front sight to a fibre optic.
3. Polish all the internal bearing surfaces.
I intend on using it in our local IPSC matches. I was surprised my smallish hands felt comfortable in reach w/the standard grips, but yours' look swell.
Hank M.

Thanks.I wish I liked the JM grips, but they just don't fit me at all.I can see that the trigger is going to be a problem, too. Those serrations are SHARP.What did your smith charge to remove them and do the polishing job?

I have to get the grooves polished off my trigger. It really hurts my finger when firing.

I hope the gunsmith didn't charge you too much to change the front sight. It is a quick change sight. Slide the front sight back a little bit and lift up and it comes right out. Replace it the opposite way. Buy any front sight for the Classic and DX series revolvers and they pop right in. Takes about 5 seconds to change the sight. HiViz and SDM sell replacement Fiber Optic sights for like $28.

Hi-Viz is an easy swap. Literally a 30 second job. Mine was $33 ish w/ shipping included. Trigger grooves do not bother me. I have had 5 or 6 different sets of grips on it. These work. Grippers comfy if you like rubber. Bob

Default TRIGGER POLISH CHARGE

"I can see that the trigger is going to be a problem, too. Those serrations are SHARP.What did your smith charge to remove them and do the polishing job?"

John: He charges $10-15 to polish a trigger, but this is just for reference sake when talking to your smith. Mine won't take in work out of the local area.
