I've got one of the Classic N-Frame Model 27 revolvers with the 6-1/2" barrel and noticed that on the REAR sight the front set screw has backed off.

I am "assuming" that this is NOT an adjustment screw but merely an anchor screw. Would this be correct?
If so, are there any objections to using a dab of Blue Loctite on it?

Thanks,

I don't know of any set-screws used in the rear sight. Do you mean the screw into the top-strap at the round end of the tang? If so, yes that is a mount screw that allows the elevation screw to work. I'd use purple, not blue, Loc-Tite on it. Does the job without having to struggle to remove it in the future should you want to mount an optic or optional sight.

Adios,

Yes, that's the one.
