I'd love to see what some of the options are out there.

Just for fun, I would like to see a massive Xframe wearing some old factory service grips.

75vette... Polished 500 mag, nice! How much worse is the recoil with the wood grips? I love wood grips on my L frame but remember the sting of the stock wood ones on a model 29.

Meet Liberty, 12" 460XVR. Also polished, Wearing Ahrends Moradillo for K frame. The Rubber grips are never going back on, but yes, a few rounds and the hands hurt, a few more, and they go numb. Extremely robust handgun. My favorite firearm.

ruggyh had many an Xframe wearing wood grips. Search for his pics, they are worth it.

Sixspeed, for now, they're just for show. I haven't visited the range yet with the wood. I imagine it'll smart just a bit!

Have you shot any groups off the bench using the bipods? Don

I had a custom laminated wood grip from Hogue that I really liked. Would have expected that they would have been unpleasant to shoot but actually, they made the gun rotate in the hand more like a big single action revolver. Additionally they were very handsome.

Sadly they cracked and failed under recoil and Hogue would not build another set like it.

Later I had a Herretts Jordan Trooper grip. THAT one did hurt. Sold it to a forum member, Ohio Cocoanut. He was very pleased with it. Haven’t seen him posting for quite some time now. Don

I used the bench chrono testing, not really for accuracy. Most shooting is off hand.
I'm sure she's plenty accurate, but the main purpose of the gun is to make objects explode, or trying to hit things at a good distance.
not paper punching. The grip screw needs retightening after every range session
