Default Pawn Shop has a 627-0

A local Pawn and Gun has a 627-0 for the full market price of $900.
That isn't even within bargaining range for me. I didn't look at it outside the glass case so I can't go into much detail. It looked clean and the tag had the new box checked. That had to be bogus. So... If someone is looking for one of these and is willing to pay full market price and buy it from a shop that is a bit a knot head -ish, PM me and I will give you contact info. I am only putting this here because it somewhat unusual and one of the good folks on the forum may be looking for one.. I don't represent the shop, nor am I a customer. IF you decide to follow up on this please due your homework and diligence.

Standard disclaimers apply YMMV

I think you're pulling our collective legs, or you're grossly misinformed about the market for that particular model.

I guess anything is possible, but I'm betting it was used, or grossly mis-priced. Cabela's is extremely inconsistent in their grading and pricing from store to store. I would never buy any gun from them unless I held it in my hands first.

If it is a 5" and in like-new condition, that's cheap. The last one I chased on GunBroker went past my bidding limit of $1,200.

I honestly wasn't being sarcastic about it.
I thought the price was up there a bit.
I'm a shooter and not a collector so IDK

I agree that some of these Pawn Shops are bone headed. If I can't negotiate a deal with a pawn shop I just leave and never go back again. It's their loss. Even if they had $100 on the gun I would have offered around $70. . .'cause it's a pawn shop and I know what they pay for stuff.

Ed, I am with you. I have seen them sell before locally at around 800-900 and fetch 1200 or better on GB

For a NIB example, $1200.00 would be at the low end. $800-900 would be a very good price for a used one. The 627-0 is every bit as good as the current PC models, based on my experience with both. I would not own any current production S&W revolvers. Draw your own conclusions from that statement. I don't want to incur the wrath of the moderators.

Actually it's 5 1/2". I bought one about 12 years ago for $500.00 without box or papers. It's the best .357 shooter I own. I found another a few years ago for $600.00 and told a collector friend of mine about it. He was a little tight for cash at the time and didn't buy it. He's wishing now that he had gotten it. $900.00 for that gun in good shape with no box or docs is a decent price for someone who wants one. I'd still offer $750.00 OTD and see what happens. Around here most SS S&W N-frame revolvers are $750.00 and up depending on condition and what comes with it. The finger groove grips are worth a few hundred. I took mine off and put Hogues on so I wouldn't scratch them up.

At that price that would be a much better return on investment than most things, buy it to flip now or hold for a while.

I have been looking for one of these early 627's w/o the slab barrel and would jump at that price.

For $900, it would be worth buying - unless it has been abused.

Last of the engraved top strap checkering models.

Every bit the old school 27, just stainless with a full length ejector rod shroud.

I called about the 627 this morning when the store opened. The fellow I talked to said it was new in the box, he thought. They sent pics which clearly showed it was not new and they were looking for the box. I received an email shortly after the initial one to inform me it had sold. I bet it was a forum member. Let us here from you.
