Been Searching For A While
Perusing the pre-owned case at my favorite LGS this afternoon and finally came upon a model 66-2 2.5" in excellent condition. Stock grips, RR & WO. $523 later, I walked out the door with it. I added a Hogue grip.

Congratulations.
Very nice.
A lot of people like the short barrel K-frames including me. $523 seems like a fairly good deal.

That is a nice one. I like the 2.5 version as well. Mine is a 19. I have never run across a good deal on a 66.

Considering that I have seen them sell for $700 and in some cases a lot more, you did well!

You did very well. They are going for a lot more than that these days. $700 to $800 is the current norm.

I get that RR is red ramp front sight, but what does WO mean?

I'll have another one someday. I used 2 1/2" Model 19s early in my FA career and still love the durn things. They are remarkably accurate and work great with .38+p FBI loads.

I would say that's a "great" price. I have 3 2.5" 66's and one 3" and I like them all. One of them is my old 66 no dash that I was issued as a Trooper many years ago and I bought it when they were traded in. Then my brother wanted to use it for his concealed carry when he was a military attache. I loaned it to him after converting it to a 2.5" barrel and round butting it, including regrooving the back strap. It's been shot a ton and has been rebuilt internally 3 times over the years, and I've kept it for sentimental reasons.
For comparison on the pricing there is currently a 66-1 2.5" collector with box and all papers etc on the Colt forum for $1200. Personally I think that's out of line as I recently picked up a 66-3 3" with box, papers etc on this forum for $1200 and that's a much rarer bird than a 2.5" regardless of the dash number.
