I just received my Crimson Trace LG350 with green laser option. I do not get paid by, or represent Crimson Trace in any capacity.

The LG350 model is much more ergonomic than the LG 305 series. They are also a bit larger and far more recoil absorbing than any of the other models offered by Crimson Trace. Pay attention if you pocket carry due to size. Overall, the new grips fit my hand (XL glove) like they were made for me. I would choose them over the LG305's all day and use the LG405 series for pocket carry.

The activation switch requires a bit of practice as it is larger and more recessed than any other model.

The green laser requires 4 ea. 2016 batteries with a constant "on" life of two hours. Batteries are free for life from CT if you register your product.

Shooting .357 loads from my 640 was a pleasure and once dialed in, keeping everything in a 2" square @30' was a no brainer if you forgo your coffee until after range time.

The green laser could be spotted clearly at well over 100 yards in daylight out my back door. I did try some 75' shots and could keep them all in a 8-1/2 x 11" paper but no better than that with the 2" barrel and double action only gun.

Does anyone really need the green model on a short range SD gun? Probably not, as the red ones would work very well and cost about $80 less than the green option. I carry my 640 a lot for work and may be called on to put a round exactly where intended in all levels of light so I would buy the green again in a heartbeat.

Remember, if you are a certified NRA instructor, call CT directly for special pricing.

Here is the lineup.

Just got confirmation yesterday that my LG350G shipped, should get it this week sometime. They were a long time coming. Don't know if I'll like it but figured the only way to find out was to try it. I will never fully depend on it, but I also believe any advantage has to be good... It will reside on my EDC 649-3. Thanks for the review.

Stay safe, John

They are one of the best training devices available for teaching trigger control. Get a set of spare batteries and practice dry fire by only watching the dot, not the sights.

Remember, when you adjust the dot you need to treat it as if it is the front sight. If you are shooting high, move the dot up.

You will know lasers work when you, using a two hand hold, shoot everything into the black of a standard bullseye target at 30' from the waist.

Careful about the "Batteries are free for life"" You only can get batteries once per year direct from CT. The green is definitely better than the red is daylight. I will wait for the price to come down a bit before buying a set for my J frames.

How does the new design feel in hand and in recoil management compared the the LG-305?

We're all different in what we prefer, but I want the most compact grip as possible for pocket carry. If I'm going to a larger grip, I might as well carry a larger gun.

You are correct in the once per battery offer. I am awash in Crimson Trace products so I have a lot of spares. The green does take a different battery which needs to be noted.

To answer your question.

My pictures tell the size story pretty well. The 350's fit my hand as if I molded them from clay. In other words, perfect. To any out there that find the J frame too small due to having large hands, the 350 grips should work for you. Somehow, CT has figured a way to make them softer on the inside without feeling overly spongy on the outside. I think they could market these in all sizes without the laser option and make a lot of money. Hopefully they will send demo's out to their stocking distributors for all to try before purchase.

I am not recoul sensitive but I shot a wood handled Mod. 60 right beside the 640 with the 350's and the CT grips do a lot for recoil reduction. There seems to be a more forgiving filler covering the backstrap and that really does the job.

On a small gun, the green is definitely not necessary. It gives about 1/6 the battery life of the red and at close range the green offers little additional benefit.

I fully agree, which is why my carry J frame is a 340PD with the LG405's. My house, or work carries are 640's with the full size CT's.

My LG350G grip arrived today, installed it and so far I love it! Might shoot with it tomorrow. It's not as sticky or as thick as the Pachs, and not as slippery as the 60 pro series grips. It is a keeper already. Very cool to dry fire with. Definitely pricey but if they work as good as I suspect they will for live fire I may dress the 640 .38spl with a set next year. Right now these are on my 649-3 and will stay there. Perfect for my method of concealment. I like taking aim with my XS sight, then activating the laser to see where I'm at. My old eyes are liking this! Any advantage when it comes to better control and delivery for me. Would have worked well for at least one of the five coyotes stalking my little dog a couple of years ago.

Stay safe, John
