Need help to date my 686

Hello,

I would like to date my 686 .357

SN AFS 9127
MOD 686, no dash number
"M" Stamp
Nickel with a 6" barrel

I purchased it from a fellow Marine about 1990 when he wanted to buy a 9MM.

Any idea of the value? It is in excellent condition and shoots great.

Paid $200 for the gun, holster, leather with sheepskin case, box of ammo, speed loader and a set of Ear Muffs. Would love to come across another deal like that.

Welcome to the forum. December 1984 or January 1985. It's not nickel -- it's stainless steel.
