Hello all, this is my first post to this wonderful site. I have a rad S&W 686 L Frame, 6" barrel 357 Magnum. I also have a rad Bianchi holster for said firearm. I am wondering if there is a shoulder holster strap to fit my already set-up? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have a couple of Bianchi vertical shoulder holsters for revolvers and the holster itself is totally different than my belt/hip holsters. To me it would take a lot of modification to make one work for a shoulder rig.

Jcmiller, thank you

That's what I was thinking Jcmiller. I just wondered if there was any way around all of that. I appreciate your help. Thank you again. Take care.

Short answer is no, you can not convert a belt holster to a shoulder holster.

There are two common types of shoulder holsters, vertical and horizontal.

Think Dirty Harry to picture the vertical type. Most common model nowadays is the Bianchi X15.

Think Don Johnson in Miami Vice to picture the horizontal. Most common and the original is the Galco Miami Classic.

The vertical would be what you'd be looking for to carry a 6" revolver. Anything over 4" in revolvers will have the end of the barrel sticking out the back of your jacket if you try to carry it horizontal.
