Who was it issued to?
I just bought a S&W Model 64 and I would like to know to what Corrections Department it was issued to. Is there any site to check this information I'm just curious.
The number is TWC4286
thanks
Paul

Nope. If you send a request + $50 to S&W they can tell you where it went originally, whether that be a store or agency but that's about it

Could have even been the Pennsylvania DOC. Any initials engraved on it?

If that number is on the bottom of the grip frame (and also possibly on the left side of the frame above the trigger), it is the serial number, not an initial of the company or department that bought it new.

The serial # is on the bottom of the grip frame and is different than TWC4286 which is on the left side of the frame. There some other numbers on the frame and the crane.
I bought a model 10 police trade some 6 months earlier and it had a number similar and it came from Texas Corrections.

I also have a model 10 with TWC5062 and was wondering what it meant. So it is Texas Corrections?
