Default 63 - Are prices dropping?

Everyone once in awhile I think I want to buy a 63. If memory serves me right in the past they usually cost about $700. Last night when looking on gunbrokers found one NIB for $575. Did a price match on Buds and they offered it for $600 shipped.
Am I going kuku or did prices on these drop in the last 6 months?

The pre-lock guns are holding their value well. There is no shortage of new lock-era guns.

The rimfire J-frames have been hard to find sometimes. You can't just walk in every gun shop and buy a Model 63 like you can a 642.

S & W recently did a production run of 3" 63-5s. I have seen them sell online (1 cent start) for as little as $499. They will get sold, and unless there is another run prices will go up again.

I have seen fewer pre-lock model 63s for sale recently, and prices seem stable ($600+) for nice examples. This may be due to more .22 LR ammo availability.

As others have stated, .22RF J frames have been scarce; at least in my area. No doubt, the availability of ammo also plays a part. In my area, new model 63's are starting to show up, priced in the low/mid $600.'s.. While waiting for them to show up, I did run into an older style 6shot Model 63 from the mid 80's that was NIB and was able to pick it up for $525 just a few months ago. I gave myself an "attaboy" for that one.
