Throw out some suggestions for an L frame holster.

Must be -

-IWB
-slim profile (no thick leather holsters), I prefer a suede/cow hide
-ride low, so as to conceal the grip properly.
-Kydex is fine, but it must be lined inside to prevent surface damage.
- Desantis soft-tuk and Galco stow-n-go is what I use for all my other guns.

I carry appendix if that helps.

Thanks.

2.5"

I ha e a night guard for main carry, and 686plus pc that I'd like a holster for as well.

I have an ElPaso Saddlery IWB holster for a 3" L frame available, let me know if you would like photos.

Lobo Leather looks like they have a nice IWB with side guard or body shield. Don't think it has a tuckable feature if that is important to you. Sideguard makes some good IWB that you may like. I think the gun will ride higher in the Sideguard than the Lobo. Also the wait period for the Sideguard is longer. Also take a look at Garrett Industries IWB for revolvers. They make great holsters and about a 7-10 delivery. I have a Simply Rugged pancake for a model 65, two Garrett's for a Glock 19, Remoras for the 65 and Ruger LCR. They all work. The Remora is the cheapest, most convenient but not practical to practice drawing and can get a bit hot in the summer. The SR is designed for OWB but adaptable to IWB with holes and straps. It may not be as good for IWB as a dedicated IWB which they make. With the Ruger LCR or Smith 65 I usually just grab the Remora and go. I'm lazy.

Thanks, Bob. Looking at the holster it doesn't appear to ride low enough.

That's the biggest problem I'm having is finding one that has the clip placed high enough to drop the gun low enough so it's comfy and won't print.

You can see the adjustments I made to each kydex holster..... Basically raising the belt clip/top portion of holster.

Fitting a holster can be a bit of a pain at times. I rather like the belt for a revolver holster to run over the center of the cylinder for me and sometimes a rather good looking holster don't fit the way you like. I'm a bit chunky through the waist and it's a lot easier for me to re holster the gun and more comfortable a bit higher on the belt. Keep looking there's one out there for you.

Barrel length? I used a Remora for occasional AIWB carry of a 686+ w/3" barrel. Worked very well, but it is a heavy gun. http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1980-present/441156-found-iwb-holster-3-686-a.html

Thanks for mentioning this. I grabbed the Remora you suggested, but with the re-enforced top, and it's perfect.

I attached a belt clip and the ride height for appendix carry is identical to my custom made Kydex holster. The big positive is the Remora doesn't scratch up my guns!

I'm ecstatic about this. I got the 2.5" model, and am going to order the 3" model for my L comp!

Thanks again!

Wow......IWB for an L-frame? Not me! K frames are tough enough to conceal!

FINALLY

Black Hills Leather - custom made per my spec requests and pictures I sent to them via text.

I got one for the N frame and L frame nightguards I own. They also work on other 2.5" snubbies.

These holsters allow me to carry my L frame nightguard concealed wearing sweats and t-shirt.

This was a very long hunt. I wanted to share the end product and give kudos to Rudy over at Blackhills for being willing to, and nailing both custom holsters with perfection.
