I have the Mountain Gun in 44 mag, 45 Long Colt, and just won the bid on Gunbroker on a 41 mag. What other calibers was the Mountain Gun made in?

Here's a hard one to find. An older version comes in a 7-shot cylinder, too.

There was also a .45 ACP and .357 Magnum 7-shot on the L Frame, and there is a .22 Cal. 617 designated as a "Mountain Gun" that has been mentioned on the Forum.

I don't believe there was a .44 Special as there would really be no point to it. There already was the 4" 624 which is basically the same thing except for being square butt. There may have been a 4" round-butt for Lew Horton, there was a 3" RB for Horton.

The Mountain Gun also came in .45 ACP. Mine is a 625-7 that I bought brand new in March 2000. I still kick myself for not buying the L frame .357 version back in '98.

oops, didn't notice that Alk8944 had already included the 22LR version.

Thanks for the info. I will be looking for the 357. I will have to think on the 22LR though. Somehow it just doesn't seem to match as a last resort protection carry.
I do have the 624 Thunder Ranch as well as a 3" in the 624. As I think about it I have several 629's in 3" also. Have the 41mag in every length except the 3". Maybe that's next.

Mountain Guns all have Round butt frames, tapered barrels with a shrouded ejector rod, Black Baughman FS Blade;
The majority of MG's are six shot N frames in a caliber beginning with the number 4 with the exceptions being the 686 MG which is the only L frame , only 7 shot and only .357 Magnum and the 617 MG which is the only K frame and only .22 lr.

.45 long colt. I used to have one and I wish I could get it back. so I think your answer is .44 mag .45 long colt .41 mag .357 mag and .22 I guess that's the first I have heard of that one

Not a true Mountain but the 329 Sc is a wonderful Trail / Last Resort with a Lion bearing down on you recoil will be a minor issue. I have a brace of 329's with consecutive serial numbers. I have been wearing it daily as a Rattler stopper

Mountain guns are illegal in CA. The model 69 is as close as we get here.

IIRC the premise of the "Mountain Gun" was a light holsterable self defense gun for rough country , Im assuming thats why they went with the RB grip and tapered barrel,

If the idea is to keep the gun smaller then IMO the L frame .357 MG makes more sense and an N frame .357 MG makes about as much sense as an N frame .22lr Mountain gun,...Not that I wouldnt buy one ha ha.
