I'm trying to find out more about this Firearm Its S/N AVT8460 in the same area there are other markings E19, 15634. Looking for Year and things that would help me understand about this firearm. Thank you for your support.

It is one of tthe earlier stainless 44 magnums and although S&W updated later models with a stronger cylinder stop I have never had a problem with the 2 629-1 I own. Mater of fact I just bought another one. Many don't like the 8 3/8" barrels as much as the shorter guns because the are kinda hard to carry well, but are excellent for hunting or some forms of target shooting.
