629-1 pawn shop find
I stopped into a little pawn show near work and saw a big silvery revolver in the handgun case. It was a 4" 629-1 with the original target stocks. It is probably 98%. RR WO TH TT-smooth.
It went out the door at $600. I wish it had the box but I'm tickled with that price, especially as compared to some of the asking prices for similar guns on Gun Broker.
I will post pix when I get the chance.

Stainless N-frame in 44 magnum, and a 4" to boot, for 6 Benjamins, what's not to like about that?

What a steal. I'd be tickled too. Right now I'm just jealous. I bet there's an ironworker that's even more jealous. Can't wait for the pics. Congrats!!

If I saw a 629-1, in the condition you describe, for 600 bucks, I'd have sprained my wrist reaching for my wallet!
We do like photos, tho..

I don't have a .44 yet. I could not have left it there myself. Do have 2, 45 Smith revolvers though. Bob

Judging from the front of the cylinder I would be surprised if it's even had a full box of ammo fired through it.

Congrats!
Someone needed money very quickly to bring that beauty to a pawn shop and didn't go back to claim it.
What could they have gotten for it when pawned?
I'm going to need to visit my local shops more often.

Guy said he had $525 in it, for what that's worth.
I wasn't going to argue. The sticker was $650.

I have zero interest in stocking another caliber but, had I seen that deal, I'd be stocking .44 spc. & .44 mag., like right now!
