Pics of an Ahrend silver/black stained maple grips?
Anyone have a pic of these? Can't find one. Considering a set of these grips on a 629. Trying to see what they look like. Anyone with a set of dark walnut stained maple could please post too. Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post in. Thanks.

Try looking on ebay under the seller name "Gripseller". They have lots of their grips to drool over and what you see is what you'll get. They'll be in your mailbox in a few days.

I finally found one set of 1911 grips in that finish on grip seller. Was hoping to see what a set would look like on a revolver. Any revolver, and any grip design. It's kind of hard to judge from a pic of 1911 grips that aren't even on a gun, but thank you.

Like 75Vette said. Check out the Ahrends grip photos on Ebay. Type into the search box "Ahrends grips". I found 4 sets of black stained revolver grips without looking hard. Not on a revolver but you'll get a good idea of what you can expect.

I understand. I saw those. But it's Black/Silver stained, not Black stained I was looking for. Not trying to split hairs or be a jerk, it's just not one you see much. Like I said, one pair of 1911's in THAT stain & wood, in all 12 pages. Trust me, I looked. No big deal, maybe I'll roll the dice and just order a set direct. Was hoping on off chance someone here might have a set on something I could look at. But judging from his other stuff I probably won't be disappointed if order 'blind'. Thanks anyways.

aaah , gotchya. I don't think I've ever seen , or at least paid attention to Black/ silver stain. It must be a unique look. If you do find it out there somewhere come back here and post a photo. I'd be interested in seeing it.
I bet it would look good on a nice stainless revolver. Good luck

Thank you, and yes, I believe it would be both unique and sharp, to my taste anyway. Hard to take that proverbial 'leap of faith' though, when all told & with tung oil it would go for around 120. plus, and I am not The Man With The Big Hat haha! Compounding the problem, I CAN see the straight black ones you mentioned AND the Dark Walnut stained maple - both of which have some degree of appeal to me, but it's that dang Black/Silver that's preventing me from taking either of those. Kind of like 'zebra striped'? But subtler/not obnoxious? maybe???

Ok, this is what I have to go on. Obviously, wood grain and thence 'look' is a giant variable, BUT I am inspired and think I will take 'The Leap'. You live once, right? And the good year hogues can always go back on it anyway so WHY NOT? Lol. NOW, the only question remaining is Retro Targets orrrr Ungrooved Tacticals? Orrrr grooved non-retro conversion tacticals??? Lol. I WILL be sure to post. Wish there was an 'ask the audience' feature here. Too funny. We'll see.

LoL, That's a lot to chew on! I see what you mean about the pattern though. It's different. I'd like to see it on a set of revolver grips. Not enough there on the 1911 grips to get a good feel for what it really looks like.

I think with the 'right' piece of maple (tightly stacked linear tiger stripes) it will look phenomenal. Unique, new, clean & mean, on stainless. Too bad I have to think 'outside the box' as the no-brainer dark cocobolo is gone now. ahh well, nothing ventured nothing gained. We shall see.
