I was not aware of the 442 being made in .327 Federal. I thought the Model 432 and the Model 632 were the Centennial in .327.

Below is my 431PD in 32 H&R Magnum.
The 432PD looks the same with a shrouded hammer -- pretty much looks just like a 442.
But both of these are chambered in 32 H&R Magnum -- not 327 Federal.

My 432PD does indeed look just about like my 442, but with 6 rounds of 32 H&R Mag instead of 5 38 Specials. I find the 432 a real pleasure to shoot, but a bit of a handful with Buffalo Bore's 100g +P 32 H&R Mag rounds, which average 1100fps out of that short barrel. (That load gets to 1234fps with a 3" barrel.)
I have also read that the 327 Mag is a BIG step up in power from the H&R, so I expect that if there were one of these little guns chambered in 327 it would be an eye opener to shoot. That wouldn't keep me from trying it, though, if I ever came across one.

The 432PD is not particularly rare, but a very nice gun. I had one, until my wife took it over as her EDC. I haven't seen it since. Shoots .32H&R Mag, .32S&W Long, .32S&W, .32ACP. Quite a versatile J frame. They show up on Gun Broker frequently. Last one I saw there was advertised as NIB and was asking $500. It was there quite a while, months, with no takers. I seriously considered it, to replace the one I lost.

That may be the one I bought. My original came from Buds, which had 'em for a while, but mine had a defect, S&W sent a FedEx label, and when they got the gun decided it was not repairable (and not returnable.) They had no 32 caliber anythings to offer as a replacement, so gave me a 686+ which I am in the process of selling. Found the replacement 432PD on Gunbroker, and IIRC it was $500.
I find the 432 more pleasant to shoot with anything (except the Buffalo Bore 100g +P load) than the 442 with any 158g load, which is the only bullet weight I load in 38 Special. Range sessions of 100+ rounds of fairly hot 100g H&R Mag loads are tolerable with just the Uncle Mike's extended grip, something I could not do wilth a 442 unless it wore the cushiest Pachmayr. Accuracy in the 432 seems to get better the higher the velocity - groups get smaller, and closer to POA - with the Buffalo Bore load producing the smallest group I've shot with the gun, practically on top of the front sight.
I will probably make the 432 my daily carry once I get the Crimson Trace LG305 switched over from my 640. My concern will be that my wife will try it some day and decided that finally she's found a gun that is tolerable enough to shoot that she'd be willing to carry it - the problem CATI1835 apparently had - in which case I'll have to find another one for me to carry.
