New J frame hammers

I have 2 new J frames (637 and a 431PD) with the tiny hammers. I could care less about the forged vs MIM part.
But am wondering if any one has tried removing the spur off one? I have done it with other guns, and know it works because although the mass goes down the speed goes up, but these hammers look so small on these I am wondering. Could I just install a hammer from a 642?

Interesting. A swap should work. I’d think just bobbing the hammer would be best. Just based on the hammer and trigger that are in there now have already seated their mating surfaces together depending on how many rounds are thru it already.
