Default J carry guns - the old(er) and the new(er) ......

While I LOVE my vintage Smiths, I normally carry a 340 PD. However, I practice with and also carry the model 37 pictured below. I'll admit to feeling just a little extra spring in my step when the 37 is tagging along. Odd?

Other combos?

I love the 37. Great gun! Mine served me well for years!

Now it's a 442!

This is my warm weather carry. I worry about firepower somedays but it is fast to deploy from a pocket and totally reliable. This gun is a long way from new.

My oldest S&W is a 1983 vintage Mod. 36 and newest is a 2015 Mod. 60-15. In between I have a 2-1/2" Mod. 19-5 (1988) and 2-1/2" Mod. 66-4 (1997).

Most days I carry a 640-1, (2001), and as a backup a 637-2, (2011). One of these days I need to take some pics and learn how to post them.

My oldest carry gun is a 1981 model 36. The 442s and 37 are after 2000.

Top one (637) has been my carry choice lately, but will be going with the 1973 Model 36 here shortly. Have to send the 6 month old 637 back to S&W.

I carry a 340PD or a 640 in my back pocket everyday. I have done it for 12 years and if I feel necessary add a sidearm in a holster also under a shirt.
I think the J frames are one of the best guns ever made. So practical. I have a 1955 pre 36 and a 1961 36 also. Have a nickel 37. Love these little guns.
