PS-I have a Model 60 that I am thinking about putting wood grips on.

It is the J-Square Fingergroove Silverblack Checkered Fleur-de-Lis. This particular grip will fit J-Frame round butt revolvers. It has a closed backstrap, so there is no gap. This grip fit my revolver perfectly.

My grip is a rubber Houge.
Recoil from 357 mag is stiff.
With adrenaline flowing, you do not notice.
Target practice with lighter loads is recommended though.

Altamont grips are awsome and their customer service is even better. I have two pair now and just ordered a set on Combats for my 638. I didn't notice when I ordered but I forgot to change the shipping address to my new address. When I checked the USPS Tracking I found out they were being shipped to Arizona, not Michigan. After contacting both USPS and Altamont, USPS is shipping the package back to Altamont and Altamont is shipping me another set while they wait for the first set to be returned. AWSOME!!
