Roy Jinks ROCKS!
I got the updated letter today. Thank you Roy!
Yeah, I know. The letter is sideways again. Somebody with skillz feel free to hop in and fix it. All I can do it turn my computer in its side.

Somewhat of an anomaly, but a beautiful gun nonetheless, and certainly an interesting history. How long for the letter, once submitted?

So, this letter is the correction to the first letter where the revolver was inadvertently described as a square butt?
See, I told you Roy would fix it PDQ.

So what is meant by misassembled? Does that mean you have a model 10 frame or other parts, just curious.

I think it took right at three weeks.

Yes, correct on the correction. I wrote him and asked for a clarification and got the reply in about three weeks. Awesome service!

By miss-assembled he might mean that a 357 cylinder and barrel were installed on frame already stamped model 10 making it into what is actually a model 13
I had a gun come to me completely screwed up. It was marked 629-1 and had a 44 mag cylinder an 8 3/8 barrel. I had to replace the barrel with a full underlug 5" 45 barrel and ream the cylinder to 45 colt to make it just right.

I don't think a 357 cylinder will even fit into a Model 10's frame window. No, this gun was a M13 from beginning to end. Made as a M13, assembled as a M13, boxed as a M13, shipped as a M13, sold as a M13, appears as a M13 in all the factory records.
It's just the guy who's job it was to hand stamp the model number messed up. Monday morning, maybe. And the guy who's job it was to check the first guy missed it, too. Not so uncommon. We see mismarked guns all the time.

Well, I have a model 10-2 and a model 19 cylinder fit in it fine once I trimmed the barrel extension (only difference between a 19 cylinder and a 10 cylinder is about 0.1 in length). I also had to trim the frame lug a bit because it was a recessed cylinder. Wouldn't have to do that on a non-recessed cylinder like a on a model of course. So a model 10 frame with a model 13 barrel screwed into it should have no problems with a K frame 357 cylinder fitting in the window, I later installed a used short model 19 barrel in the frame and the gap came right at .005 Works fine.
