I can see why you couldn't pass it up.

My 6" M686 shipped in Jan 1983 is the most accurate handgun I own.

flgolfer29,
Thanks for up righting my pics. I guess they posted according to the way I had the camera turned when I took the pics.
I'm not sure if these grips were a special Houge run made on order for FHP or someone had some great wood working skills. These are sharp looking grips and may have been a retirement presentation. I can not find any hard documentation that the FHP used the 686 series.
I love it.

I may be Wrong, if so, this will not be the first time. It was my understanding that the inspection and if needed rework was only needed on the revolvers ordered by the Custom Service.
No matter what, you have a quality revolver enjoy it and shoot the wheels of it.

Great looking gun. You have one of the best revolvers ever made. Love those stocks. Thanks for showing.

I was a LEO in Florida from 1985-88. We were allowed to carry any 4" private purchase .357 revolver we wanted to as long as we qualified with it. I was issued a Model 65 but carried a Model 686. I did see more than one OG Trooper who had a mini badge in his stocks. Also,in my department, after 10 years your issue revolver was yours to take with you when you left active service. Just my 2 cents.

As for "no M", all the early L frames involved in the recall I have had exhibited no problems. I have a 581 (ADE prefix) that I have not shot yet.
