Not sure what kind of help you are looking for. I went directly into their website. Their speed loaders seem to be about the same design as the Speed Beez speed loaders and both companies offer them for the 617 in both 6 and ten shot.

I've only tried .22 loaders twice, once on an old 43 J-frame I had briefly, and the others on various K-frames. Particularly with uncoated lead, the chambers get gummy so quickly, that gravity alone won't seat many of the rounds as with centerfires. You'll have to take time to mash them all flush before closing the cylinder.

I've had good luck with Speed Beez for my 617s. Brownells has a nifty 100 round loading block in a case that's really convenient.

new speedloader

5 Star now has 10 shot 617 speedloaders. Works of art, solid aluminum and only$20. Check them out.
They are not yet on the website, give them a call.

I have the DS-10 loaders and have been fortunate enough over the years to be given a number of loaders from guys without 617s. I now have 16 loaders.

I use them for Steel Challenge Matches and only have to reload them once during the match.

They release more reliably than the other loaders on the market.

Anyone help with ds-10 website and email? Need speed loader for my 617.

Below is the 7th generation loader, the best DS-10 loader to date.

How do I Place an Order????

DS-10-Speed
I finally got on your site, but there are no prices, no way to place an order and no contact info to be able to ask how. What are your prices, shipping cost and how do I place an order?

This is the info I get when I try to go to the web site. I have ordered ds-10-speedloaders in the past and now I can't even open the web site, what's up?

I've got a mix of earlier ( 2nd and 3rd) gen DS-10 loaders for my 617's. They have been as reliable as a hammer and easy to load. I have a couple of Speed Beez for my 63 . They are OK but I prefer the DS. The DS are usually a bit less costly as their competitor too.

BTW, not sure on the 617 flavor but the five star loaders I've used in 38 require a twist (vs push) to release their rounds. Problem is that you have to twist in the opposite direction of the "been around forever" HKS brand. This was a real deal breaker for me as I don't want to be fumbling with "left handed" loaders for one gun only.

Wee Hooker, try Safariland comp. I, II or III. I like the III the best, no twisting, just push it on like the DS-10 and it loads automatically.

Thanks AZ, I do own a couple dozen Safariland Comp ( II and III) loaders for my 6 shot L and K frame revolvers. They are my hands down favorite. Unfortunately, they don't make a loader for the 7 shot L frame 686+ and 8 shot N frame 627 so I was forced to try something new. 5 Star had a package with a few loaders and a loading block for both guns so I figured I'd try them based on reviews and their apparent build quality.. That's when I discovered the backwards twisting action required to release the cartridges. ( I don't use the old HKS brand often but have had them for my 6 shot 617 and 5 shot J frames over the last 30 years.) Bottom line is that the 5 star were a fumble fest for me. I'll dump them in a second if Safariland ever steps up with a 7 and 8 shot flavor. Meanwhile, I use moon clips or single load.
