Default Model 60-9 Ported

Picked up my S&W Model 60-9 today.

It's a 2" 357 Magnum.

The gun is ported and says Mag-na-ported on the box label.

Came with the box and brochures.

I hope to get it to the range soon.

From the date code on the box label, I think this gun was an early production unit from 1996.

It has a forged trigger. Don't know about the hammer or other parts.

Note that I have a special camera that takes pictures 6 days in the future.

i thought the 60-9 had a MIM hammer and trigger because the trigger was hollow in back?

The trigger on this one has a solid back.

Did the special order code start with a 6? That should give you an idea about the forged hammer and trigger. 97 would be around the time they started using MIM.

Yes, it is 6031.

So if I understand these codes, that should be February 1996.

I'd sure like to give it a go next to my 60-9 LS (no ports) to see whether there's that much difference (other than flash and noise). Eager to hear your range report.

The revolver was manufactured on Wednesday, January 31st of 1996

What is the 6 digit Product Code printed on the End Label?
